Bloomberg reviews Windows Phone 7.5

There have been many Windows Phone 7.5 reviews but ones from the financial community are interesting in their own right, as lack of confidence in Microsoft’s ability to execute has depressed their stock price for a decade, despite tripling revenue and doubling profits over the same period.

In the above video Rich Jaroslovsky, Bloomberg News columnist, reviews the OS and finds a lot to like.  He particularly liked App Connect, a new Mango feature, and also found the voice command better than that on Android.

He concludes that Windows phone 7.5 Mango makes Microsoft relevant in the smartphone world again, saying:

Microsoft still has a long way to go to catch up with Apple and Google, and as this week’s announcement of the latest iPhone illustrates, they’re hardly standing still. Windows Phone 7.5, though, at least confirms that Microsoft is pointed in the right direction.

Maybe, with Apple’s fumble, that is part of the reason why Microsoft’s share price is up 2% today.
