BlaBlaCar is a new car sharing service which is extremely popular in Europe, and which has also arrived in UK.

With BlaBlaCar drivers offer rides more for companionship than anything else, as they are only allowed to charge what covers their expenses, meaning you could travel from London to Paris for between £22 and £33 and no more.

As usual drivers are vetted via reviews from other users, with criteria such as chattiness, and whether they smoke or not, and their details are kept on file at BlaBlacar.

The service has recently released iOS and Android apps, and according to their twitter account are also considering a Windows Phone app, but can not give a release date yet.

Hopefully the app will arrive sooner rather than later, with Windows Phone having a substantial market share in both France and UK.
