Bittorrent have updated their secure file sharing and synchronization app to enable the editing of documents stored in the sync folder.
The app previously let you view files only, but will now let you create files from within the app and save them directly to a sync folder for replication amongst all your devices.
“Today, we are rolling out a new version of the Sync app. It takes the app from file access and viewing, to one that also enables productivity,” said BitTorrent product management VP Erik Pounds.
“Users will now be able to create various types of files to save directly into a Sync folder to share, as well as make edits directly to files and synchronise the changes to others.”
Bittorent Sync is 100% encrypted, and offers full granular control over folder permissions, while always storing files on devices you control, and never the cloud.
The windows phone app lets you use the share buttons in other applications to add files to your Sync folder, and also the Share button in the app to open files in your Sync folder in other apps.
Version 220.127.116.11 can be downloaded from the Windows Store here.
