It seems BBC may have improved their stance regarding Windows and Windows Phone, as the company has just launched a major app on the platform.

Their new BBC Store app for Windows and Windows Phone brings the largest collection of BBC programmes, at around 7000 hours, from the latest shows to classic titles from the BBC archive, to your device, available for purchase.

With the free BBC Store app users can stream and download programmes they bought from the Store, to enjoy at home or on the go.

The app has come to Windows and Windows Phone and the Mac first, with iOS and Android apps coming in the future.  Individual shows are around £1.89 with series around £7.99.
