Bad news for Microsoft as Trump’s chief strategists not a fan of Asian CEOs

The next four years could turn out to be a difficult time for Microsoft, despite Satya Nadella’s attempt to welcome in the new administration in USA.

It was revealed today that President-Elect Donald Trump’s Chief Strategist Steve Bannon is not particularly enamoured of Asian CEOs, suggesting in a 2015 interview that they undermined “civic society.”

He is recorded as saying “When two-thirds or three-quarters of the CEOs in Silicon Valley are from South Asia or from Asia, I think .?.?. A country is more than an economy. We’re a civic society.”

Asian CEOs currently lead both tech giants Microsoft and Google, with the 3rd leg presumably being Tim Cook, who happens to be gay. His publication, Breitbart Media, featured headlines such as “Gay Rights Have Made Us Dumber, It’s Time To Get Back In The Closet,” suggesting Apple is probably not out of the firing line either.

We can but hope while now in a position of real power rather than just agitating from the sidelines, such divisive opinions will be shelved and the new administration, like Nadella wished, will indeed work at “fostering a diverse and inclusive culture.”
