AT&T apparently waiting for Tango before updating current Windows Phones

WPCentral have spoken to AT&T who explained why they have passed on so many Windows Phone 7 updates so far.

Apparently they found the process, which needs Microsoft’s OS updates to be fused with OEMs firmware, and needs individual testing, so onerous that they rather not do it too often, and preferred to release a few large updates rather than frequent minor updates.

Stacey Harth, a spokeswoman for AT&T, told them this morning "AT&T plans for a Windows Phone update that will contain the improvements in the 8107 update and more" with no commitment to a time-frame.

They did however take a shine to Windows Phone Tango, liking the MMS improvements.

Hopefully the update will come to AT&T handsets sooner rather than later, but the carrier does not seem to be in too much of a hurry, did they?
