Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Ashen since its debut at E3 2015. The indie title caught a lot of attention for its visuals and its Xbox One exclusivity. In an interview with GamingBolt, Ashen creative director Derek Bradley discussed why Ashen was coming to Xbox One first and seemingly skipping PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
“The [email protected] team were our very first supporters, with Alexis Garavaryan discovering us in 2014 and bringing us to the team at Xbox,” said Bradley. “We shot for the stars with Ashen and the Xbox team really championed the vision, including us in three E3 Briefings since then.”
When asked whether or not it could come to PS4 or Switch, Bradly responded, “We don’t have PS4/Switch plans at the moment as the team is focussed on shipping the best game possible first.”
Considering the rough reputation that Xbox One had regarding indie titles at the beginning of its life cycle, it’s great to see the team at [email protected] support these endeavors wholeheartedly.
Ashen does not have a release date, but it is expected out sometime this year for Xbox One and PC.
