Apple Music now suprasses Spotify in number of paid US subscribers

Apple Music has reportedly surpassed Spotify in the United States when it comes to paid music subscriptions.

According to a US-based music distributor, Apple Music and Spotify lead the streaming music market in the US with over 20 million members, with Apple leading by a hairsbreadth.

The growth of the service has been reported to be due to the increasing number of devices which have found their way into consumer hands, Apple’s Homepod and iPhones of various flavors have found success over the past few months.

Apple this year made its music streaming service available to Windows 10 S users via the iTunes app which it rbought to the Microosf Store. The firm offers this sewrvice worlwide and on a variety of platform including macOS/iOS, Windows and Android.

Music streaming was one of the areas Microsoft competed with both Apple and Google before with its excellent offering Groove Music which was hindered by a lack of publicity and poor iOS and Android apps. The firm is rumoired to be launching a new Movies and TV app so that its film service doesn’t see the same fate.
