Apple copying Microsoft’s Photo Hub features?

Developers looking for clues for Apple’s future features in their iOS 4.3 beta have uncovered a "Photo Stream” feature which appears as if it will be sucking feeds of photos from Apple’s MobileMe service from other iPhone users.

This is similar to how the Photo Hub currently works with Skydrive and Windows Live on Windows Phone 7 of course.

While this would be part of Apple’s move to make iPhone more social, it is not clear if this feature will expand to include Facebook.  Apple’s previous move to social network integration was Ping for iTunes, which has been snubbed by Facebook and has failed to get any traction.  Apple is also not known to play well with others, making it likely their tacked on social feature will be iOS only.

The move does however underline that Microsoft needs to move fast in capitalizing on their unique features before they are absorbed by its competitors, and of course continue to develop new elements of their own.
