App Review: easyRing

easyRing was once again updated, packing in some new updates and great features. It’s also free temporarily!

This little app lets you set custom ringtones on your phone. But the fun doesn’t end there! You can do so much more than just ringtones, like downloading entire songs and playing custom playlists. These other features make me wonder why the app is still named a ringtone app. Nevertheless, if you want to download custom ringtones, download full songs, download in the background, listen to full songs, play music in the background, trim full songs into ringtones, or set custom ringtones, this is the app for you!

easyRing’s interface is probably the only disadvantage. The homescreen panorama looks quite cluttered with the large icons next to the text items… something you never see in the native panoramas on Windows Phone. Also, the interface for trimming a song could be a little better if showed the exact time of the song as you preview it.

Nevertheless, that is the only real negative about the app! It has three different ringtone services to choose from, so you should definitely be able to find what you’re looking for (like amazon.com has all the pop music ringtones).

SoundCloud.com support was also added in this latest update, so you can find full songs within the app. Or, if you have another source for MP3’s, you can use the app’s integrated web browser and actually download those!

The update also brings background downloading support, so you can download songs while multitasking! And you can now play your custom music playlists with shuffle, repeat, or sequential modes. This is truly the swiss army knife of music apps! If you want to set custom ringtones, I recommend you download easyRing now while it’s free!qrcode
