The Lumia 435 is squarely aimed at the burgeoning affordable smartphone segment in places like India and Latin America.
WPXbox have had the handset for a week or so and have posted a video review of the handset.
They note with the device Microsoft finally had an answer to competing low-end Android handsets in the same Rs5 900 ($96.50)and less price segment.
For the price the device performs well, but obviously lacks in aspects such as screen quality (mainly viewing angle) and performance, due to its dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, where the handset is slow to lock and unlock for example, and for example dropping frames in high end games and not being able to play 1080P video. The battery life is also not amazing, but the handset should last the day.
There are also other trade-offs, such as only being able to record video in 480P, but the device does offer a full 1 GB of RAM and 8 Gb of expandable storage. Sound quality is also very good.
Camera quality is acceptable, and pretty good for a 2 megapixel device, but WPXbox notes for the price the device should really feature a 5 megapixel camera.
WPXbox note at Rs 5999 is somewhat high compared to competing devices, but does offer the Lumia experience, something the other devices do not.
Thanks Arun for the tip.
