CameraX has been updated to simplify the implementation of camera features, offering built-in effects such as grayscale filters and the ability to create custom effects using the GlEffect interface. These enhancements allow developers to add advanced functionalities without extensive overhauls.

AI integration is showcased through the AI Samples app, which utilizes Gemini models via Firebase to generate video summaries, extract HDR thumbnails, and provide multilingual text-to-speech features. This integration aims to make media content more accessible and engaging.

Additionally, Android introduces PCM Offload mode, enabling audio playback through dedicated hardware to reduce power consumption. The PowerPlay sample app demonstrates this feature using the Oboe API and Jetpack Compose, highlighting its potential for battery-efficient audio applications.
