While Alcatel’s Europe based IDOL 4 Pro supported updates to Insider builds, Microsoft and Alcatel for some reason did not make the device compatible with the Windows Device Recovery tool. This meant that if you ran into some particularly egregious bug that you simply could not ignore, you would have to ride it out.
Now, the Windows Device Recovery Tool has been updated to support Alcatel’s IDOL 4 Pro, so insiders who use this device can now pull their feet out of any metaphorical fire. It has been noted that Alcatel and/or Microsoft still does not support the open market version of the IDOL 4S via the WIndows Device Recovery tool, so North American users of that device aren’t in the clear just yet.
The Windows Device Recovery Tool update came with more changes, which includes the following:
- Support for Honeywell Dolphin 75e and CT50 of win 10 devices.
- Added new device for Alcatel IDOL 4 Pro WP.
- Updated the Ja-jp localization resources.
- Accessibility improvements.
