AdDuplex today announced that they are ending active development of AppRaisin which is a community-driven news source delivering the top of the crop app and game releases and updates from the Windows Store. Users submit apps and games that were released or updated recently and other users up-vote the apps they like.
AdDuplex is ending the development since the growth of AppRaisin was not up to their expectation levels. Their plan was to have 100,000 monthly active users by the end of this year, but currently they have a little under 25,000 monthly active users and adding 1–2 thousands every month. It is obvious they can’t achieve their original goal which is why they are stopping the development.
Alan Mendelevich, CEO of AdDuplex has blogged about the reasons for not achieving the user growth, read his whole story here. One good news for users is that they will continue running the servers, maintaining the app and moderating the content.
