Quadra is a visually impressive retro shooter developed by the same person who brought you Impossible Shoota! You can use up to four fingers to aim your four guns at the same time!
The presentation of the game is great, but the gameplay is unchallenging and the lasting value is therefore slightly limited.
As you have already read, the game recognizes and utilizes up to four finger touch points. This becomes important because your little core can have up to four guns and you can aim each one independently by using four fingers! Yeah, four fingers on the screen can become cluttered, but you don’t have to always have four fingers on the screen since the guns will continue to shoot wherever you left them aiming. The goal of the game is to get as high of a score as possible by not letting a single enemy come in contact with your “coreâ€, which sits in the middle of the map. This doesn’t feel like much of a challenge at all, and thanks to the bombs the game gives you, it definitely seems too easy. However it could be fun the first few times you play it.
The retro style visuals have some extra animated flair to them which looks fantastic on your device. The music also fits perfectly with the game. However, the inability to resume a paused game after you turn off your phone’s screen is annoying.
Lasting Value: 3/5
Since the gameplay isn’t that challenging, the game won’t hold your attention very long, but it does have unlimited gameplay since the goal is to get a high score. It does include online leaderboards, but it only displays the top 10 scores of all time, so unless you’re ridiculously good and have lots of time to spend on the game, the leaderboards won’t make a difference to you. An inclusion of a weekly or daily leaderboard would make that a lot better.
