Microsoft confirms HTML e-mail support in Windows Phone 7

Windows Phone 7 confirmed to support HTML emailYesterday I watched the video of Pocketnow saying their early build of  Windows Phone 7 does not support HTML. Since that is such an important part of my morning activity(reading junk mails from Target) I thought I should ask the WP7 development team when it will be supported. I emailed them last night before seeing the video posted by us demoing how HTML mail looked. Now I did not email them back to tell them I saw my answer, so here is what I received today.

Will Windows Phone 7 support HTML emails at launch:

Windows Phone 7 will support HTML emails. Assuming this question is based on Brandon Miniman’s video (which I see you’ve covered today based on a developer’s response).

Will there be a unified email account:

I assume you’re referring to a unified inbox. Microsoft hasn’t announced any information regarding future versions of Windows Phone, though steps have been taken in Windows Phone 7 to help users manage their inbox. For example, in Windows Phone 7, email is organized and designed to make common tasks quick and simple with new tabs, notifications and search capabilities (Outlook filtering and flags, support for multiple EAS accounts etc…).

What does Joe Belfiore use on his hair:

As for Joe, the only product I know with certainty he uses is a Windows Phone. 😉

Well those are all the questions I asked them for the moments. I can always ask them more questions… so If any comes to mind, let me know.

Update: Apparently the video Brandon made was with a device that has what seems to be an old build… So that is why he did not have HTML support.
Update V2: Our editor and current premier Windows Phone 7 developer I3v5y says the build does have HTML support, just was not downloaded for Brandon.
