You have just received news of a new piece of HTC software which is likely to make Windows Mobile users pretty happy indeed.  The app, WI-FI Router, does just that –turns your phone into a WIFI Router, and seems to me to be one of the best and simplest implementations of the idea.

The cab, which can be downloaded from this post by Noonski here, does not create a shortcut, but the app can be found under \windows\CMInternetsharing.exe.  Once a shortcut is created under \Windows\Start Menu\Programs, the worst part is over.

Now one simply need to start the app, set a WIFI WEP key, click start and connect from your computer. No further setup seems necessary at all. In essence it does the same job as the $29.99 WMWIFIRouter, and much simpler and of course cheaper.  I have a feeling this app will be a standard on most WM phones over the next few months.
