6tag updated for Windows phones with live tile changes

6tag was recently updated in the Windows Store to  version 5.9.x.

While the store has yet to update its changelog to reflect the newest changes, developer Rudy Huyn has taken to twitter to say what the major changes are.

The new live tile system isn’t just an under the hood change, there is one change that may annoy fans of solid tiles. Along with the new WinRT live tiles, there is no longer an option to use the classic blue tile for 6tag, instead users are stuck with the transparent tile just like with 6tin.

There is a workaround for this, if you select “pin to start” from within the app, you get a live tile that has both the classic blue and also scrolls through images in your feed.

This isn’t a big deal for most people, but people who would prefer using coloured tiles for aesthetic purposes might be disappointed at the loss of choice.
