Yesterday Rudy Huyn pushed out a new update for his popular Instagram app 6tag, to bring support for non-square pictures and videos.
Unfortunately it seems the update also introduced a bug which caused the app to crash for some users.
Rudy has responded rapidly, and have pushed out version 220.127.116.11 of the software, which fixes the crashing issue, which is present for users who had video encoding in the background when they updated the app.
The update also introduces improvements to the video viewer for non-square video.
Yesterday’s update added:
- Upload non-square pictures
- View non-square pictures uploaded by other users
- Add 3 new filters: Clarendon, Gingham and Moon
- Tap and hold your picture to quickly compare with and without filter (on filters page)
- Bugfixes and use last Instagram API
On a day when Instagram’s official Windows Phone app, which has not been updated for more than a year, simply stopped working for a number of hours, it is certainly a extremely fortunate than we have dedicated developers such as rudy on the platform to provide much better support.
