5% of US teens surveyed wants a Windows Phone as their next phone, only 21% want Android

It may not be the biggest percentage in the world, but a recent survey by analysts Piper Jaffray polling 1,600 teens from high-income and 3,600 teens from average-income families found that 5% of those expect their next phone to be a Windows Phone, nearly a 1/4 of the Android number and more than double that of Blackberry.

These are not teens upgrading from feature phones either, as, according to the survey, 91% already had smartphones.

The number is not interesting due to its iPhone preponderance, but due to how close Android and Windows Phone is, giving hope for future growth into this segment and later when these teens enter the work force.
