According to Yusuf Mehdi of Xbox, 10 million Xbox One console’s have been sold since launch.

The Xbox hasn’t been selling well compared to the Sony PS4, but due to a combination of factors including price changes, top game releases, bundles and more, Xbox Box sales in the US have tripled.

Many buyers were hesitant to buy the Xbox at first due to the larger price tag because of the Kinect included. Since Microsoft dropped the Xbox One + Kinect bundle as well as the price, sales have gone up and that seems to be the key in more sales.

The PS4 hit the 10 million mark 3 months ago and now is at 13.5 million sold according to Gamespot. Sony clearly has the lead in the PS4 vs Xbox One war which is ironic because back in 2008 Don Mattrick of Microsoft said, “History has shown us that the first company to reach 10 million in console sales wins the generation battle. We are uniquely positioned to set a new benchmark for the industry.” While he is only talking the talk based on current numbers, we can hope to see increased sales in the coming weeks as a result of big game releases including Assassins Creed tied along with Black Friday sales.
