The folks over at Digital Foundry decided to take a look at the Xbox One S, and discovered that it does have some minor – but often noticeable – improvements with the framerate of some games.

While the Xbox One S has the same GPU as the regular Xbox One, there’s a key difference: it’s overclocked. For anyone who isn’t familiar with overclocking, it basically means that the GPU is running at a faster speed than usual. Overclocking is a pretty common practice for PC gamers, and now Xbox One users can see the benefits of it too.

As mentioned in the video, you will not see improvements in every single game you play. Odds are you won’t even see the difference during gameplay, as it’s just slightly smoother than normal. Microsoft themselves know about this, but decided to not make it a marketing point because of its limited range of improvements.
