A reader has noticed an interesting new element in the Windows Phone 8 OS on the HTC 8S.

It seems a German reviewer was given pretty free rein of the OS on the device, and one can see in the app list one of the interesting differences was the presence of a stand-alone OneNote app, a feature which is normally accessed via the Office Hub.

SmartphoneInfos did not actually open the app, so we do not know what the app looks like, but is is likely that it will resemble the current stand-alone iPhone and Android apps, which tended to have more features than the Windows phone version, and may allow Microsoft to update the app more often separately.

The video does show that the other Office apps remain stubbornly integrated however.

See the video after the break.

Thanks Oliver for the tip.
