Windows Phone is soon to become just Windows, and as if by some magic this evoked the arrival of an official Total Commander app on the platform.

The original developer of the file management app, Christian Ghisler, it taking sign-ups for a closed beta of the app, which was originally crafted for Windows RT and has now been ported to Windows Phone 8.1.

The app, which was first released in 1993, and was available on Windows Mobile and currently on Android, will offer its traditional two pain interface, supports the usual file operations, and also offer AES  encryption, ZIP file support,  FTP and FTPS client, Search and OneDrive support.
