imageIt may come as a surprise, but the first Windows Phone 7.5 handset on sale in Europe is the venerable HTC Mozart, now in sale in Russia running Windows Phone 7.5 Mango.

"Representing Europe’s first mobile device to the latest version of Windows Phone, HTC reiterated its title of one of the most innovative companies in the world",  said Andrey Kormiltsev, head of the HTC in Russia and CIS countries. "The appearance of HTC Mozart in our country will become one of the most anticipated premier of the fall season, as our users for quite some time waiting for the Russian presentation devices based on the new platform."

The handset is available from "MTS" and "The Messenger", as well as in their own stores and on the HTC website www.HTC-Online.ru. The suggested retail price of the smartphone in Russia is 12 990 roubles (about $414). In addition, each buyer HTC Mozart will receive a complimentary year of free mobile internet from MTS.

"We hope that the new HTC Mozart exceed customer expectations and demonstrate the highest sales. We are delighted that MTS customers salons are among the first to evaluate a wide functionality and multimedia capabilities of the new operating system” said director of marketing UE MTS Andrew Chuka.

The Russian Marketplace comes with many Russia-specific apps, such as gMaps, QIWI Wallet, RIA Novosti, and others, and will soon have VKontakte, Classmates, Yandeks.Hab and many others.
