Microsoft Research presented their research on Pre-touch on the Nokia McLaren at the CHI ’16: ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems in May this year.

They have now posted the full 20 minute video showing the user interface in action.

Notably the presenter,  Ken Hinckley, Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research, did not make any suggestion that this technology would be showing up in any future devices, which is somewhat of a shame, but understandable given the deep changes which would be needed to be made for the OS for only one or two models.

The 57 slides presented in the show can also be downloaded and viewed here.
