As many readers will know, in Windows 10 OneDrive has been simplified, removing the concept of on-demand placeholder files and requiring that folders either be synced or not synched to be visible in the file explorer.

It seems this folder synching feature may be on the way to Windows Phone, with Casey Penk, Program manager at Microsoft posting in the OneDrive UserVoice page that offline access will be coming to a future version of Windows Phone.

With Windows Phone becoming Windows 10, I suspect we will be seeing this feature showing up with Windows 10 for phone’s release in the second half of 2015.

With limited storage on handsets however and the lack of placeholder files, is this a feature our readers desire? Let us know below.

Thanks Jitish for the tip.
