The HTC Vive is the Taiwanese manufacturer’s VR answer to the Oculus Rift, though a tad more expensive at $799 with accessories to boot. However, just like the Oculus Rift headset, the HTC Vive has minimum requirements that a PC must have in order to operate, with a list of Vive certified ready PCs available for those who want to get their hands on the headset. These include manufacturers like HP, Alienware, and MSI, but apparently MSI wasn’t satisfied with just having Vive ready PCs and has introduced the 1st Vive certified VR ready notebook, or notebooks.

Now before we start handing out awards, MSI’s notebook is hardly the first to meet the minimum hardware requirements to run the HTC Vive, its just the first “certified” to do so, according to MSI. The 5 gaming notebooks in question are equipped with either the GTX 980 or the 980 SLI cards, which exceed the minimum GTX 970 requirement set by HTC.

You can check out these VR certified ready notebooks here, and even order an HTC Vive while you’re at it.
