Yammer Language support

Microsoft Yammer today announced key localization updates across the web client, mobile apps and the Yammer Success Center. This will break the language barrier that will improve communication at organizations.

Yammer web client and Yammer Success center now supports 28 languages. You can easily select your preferred primary language from the language picker in the bottom of the right pane.

The 28 supported languages are: Arabic; Chinese Simplified; Chinese Traditional; Czech; Danish; Dutch; English (US); Finnish; French; German; Greek; Hebrew; Hungarian; Indonesian; Italian; Japanese; Korean; Norwegian; Polish; Portuguese (Portugal); Portuguese (Brazil); Russian; Turkish; Romanian; Ukrainian; Spanish; Swedish; Thai.

Microsoft has also released localized mobile apps for iOS and Android devices. The 12 supported languages are: Chinese Traditional; Chinese Simplified; Dutch; English (US); French; German; Italian; Japanese; Korean; Portuguese; Russian; Spanish.

Another important update is the message translation in both the iOS and Android Yammer apps, thanks to Microsoft Translator®.

Whenever a Yammer conversation in these apps includes a language different from the user’s default language setting, a translate button will appear below the initial post. Clicking translate will instantly convert the entire conversation, including related responses, into the user’s default language. Clicking “show original text” will revert the conversation back to the initial language(s).
