We recently reported on concerns that Windows 10 Mobile uses to much space that many devices will not be able to upgrade to the new OS.

It seems Microsoft is however serious about getting as many Windows Phone users on the Windows 10 Mobile platform.

They have release the UpdateAdvisor app which can help users check to see if an update is available for their phone and free up space to do the install.

The app will check for new updates, then helps you free up space for updates by recommending files that you can move to an SD card or OneDrive to make room for the update. Once the update is completed, you can move the files back to your phone.

The app features:

  • Move songs, podcasts, pictures and videos to your SD card.
  • Move songs, podcasts, pictures and videos to OneDrive.
  • Delete songs, podcasts, pictures and videos from your phone.
