Microsoft today released the first build of Windows 10 Mobile Redstone to Insiders. The company today released build 14267 to Insiders in the Fast Ring with a few new features and a bunch of improvements. The latest build is only available to the Lumia 950, 950 XL, 550, 650, and Xiaomi Mi4.
One of the really exciting new features in this build is the ability to send pictures using the Messaging + Skype app. Yep, you can finally send pictures in a Skype conversation using the Messaging app which was a much needed addition.
With the latest build of Windows 10 Mobile, Microsoft is also bringing back the Insider Hub to Windows 10 Mobile. The latest build will allow Insiders to see thier progress on the Insider program, do quests, and get the latest news related to the Insider program.
In addition to this, the build also brings some changes to Microsoft Edge. As usual, there are some changes in the backend of the browser – but, there’s a nice little change in the UX which could come in quite handy. With the latest build, Microsoft moved the InPrivate mode button from the ellipsis menu to the app bar, making it easier for users to access the InPrivate mode. Microsoft Edge will now show a prompt when you start a download, allowing you to cancel unwanted downloads. Additionally, Microsoft stated that Word Flow now works in the address bar in Microsoft Edge on your phone.
Another minor improvement in the build is on Cortana’s music search feature. Microsoft has moved the Music Search button to the homepage/main page of Cortana, making it easier to access which a lot of users will like.
As usual, the build should also include some performance improvements and bug fixes which should improve the OS experience. It is worth noting that Microsoft will probably be continuing to release Cumulative Updates for Windows 10 Threshold 2 (build 10586).
To get the latest build of Windows 10 Mobile, head over to Settings > Update & Security and Check for Updates to download and install the latest build.
