Microsoft’s Bing search engine is no longer available in China. According to FT, Bing has been blocked based on Chinese government order. It is important to note that Google left the Chinese market back in 2010 due to censorship issues with Chinese government. Only users residing in China won’t be able to access Chinese version of Bing. Others can still access Cn.bing.com from outside China.

Chinese government blocking Bing in China won’t have significant impact on Microsoft as Bing only has a 2 per cent market share in China.

“We’ve confirmed that Bing is currently inaccessible in China and are engaged to determine next steps,” said Microsoft spokesperson.
