Microsoft today announced that it has acquired Mover, one of the fastest and most recognized cloud storage migrators in the world. Microsoft believes that Mover acquisition will help even more customers migrate easily to the cloud. Microsoft already supports several ways for cloud file migration, Moover will improve them with proven tools, and it will also enable Microsoft to offer more self-service options over time. Mover also supports migration of data from over a dozen cloud service providers – including Box, Dropbox, Egnyte, and Google Drive – into OneDrive and SharePoint.

Jeff Teper, CVP of Office, SharePoint and OneDrive at Microsoft, wrote the following regarding the acquisition:

The Mover team also brings deep expertise and migration technology, which advances Microsoft’s commitment to providing organizations of all sizes with the right tools, people and partners to successfully migrate to the Microsoft Cloud. Together with Mover, we’ll continue to provide customers with fast and reliable migrations to the cloud, with best practices and security and more connectors to more source systems, ultimately making the move into Microsoft 365 as seamless and cost effective as possible.
