As more and more low-cost Windows Phone 8 handsets with limited storage are sold, there is a rising wave of users complaining about their storage space being eaten up by the mysterious “other” category.
Now Joe Belfiore has responded to users complaining about this by promising a fix, saying:
@Shounencritiic on "Other" storage: some improvements coming in future updates, it will get better. Try turn-off skydrive auto-photo upload.
The tip to switch off SkyDrive photo uploads is new, and offers a clue to part of what’s going on – copies of temporary files staying on the device and not being deleted.
Of course the promise of a fix is good, but waiting for the next update, which may be months away is not.
