The HTC One for Windows will be settling a lot of bets which have raged regarding Windows Phone vs Android.

One recent claim has been that the latest version of Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 has better battery life than Android.

Now that theory has some support – on identical hardware, Verizon and HTC claims the HTC One for Windows has significantly longer battery life than the Android version.

During usage (the important bit really) the Windows Phone has 21 hours usage time vs 12 on Android, that’s 75% more.

For standby times the difference is also significant – 15.5 days vs 12.2 days.

It seems if you just want to keep going, Windows Phone is in fact the OS for you.
