The most frequent question we get these days is when the Mango update will be pushed out by Microsoft.

We Love Windows Phone .HK have posted this excerpt from a conversation with a HTC customer service rep posted by WPXAP, a Chinese Windows Phone Forum, which goes some way to answering that question.

In the conversation the rep claims, based on internal emails, that HTC has completed the OEM customization of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, and that this is just awaiting Microsoft certification before being pushed out.

The rep claims the update will definitely be arriving in September, but could however not pin it down even more closely.

Of course for most people the day the update arrives depends on carriers, but we can only hope that users with carrier-unlocked devices will be getting it straight from HTC as soon as it is ready.

Thanks Simon for the tip.
