HTC Investing $300 Million In Beats Audio

Ahead of the major announcement scheduled tomorrow, HTC CEO Peter Chou revealed that HTC is investing $300 million in Beats Audio maker Beats by Dr.Dre. As part of the investment, HTC will provide Beats audio technology in its devices and Beats Audio will be exclusive to HTC mobile devices. HP, one of the largest customer of Beats Audio technology will be restricted to use in only on PC’s and Laptops not on webOS based smartphones. Currently, HTC devices comes with Dolby Mobile and SRS enhancements for Audio which is pretty good. Chou added that first HTC devices with beats technology will come later this year.
