Facebook is rolling out 3D Photos on both VR and Facebook

Facebook is rolling out a new feature which will allow users to view and post 3D photos on the social media platform. The new will capture distance between the subject in the foreground and the background to generate 3D photos.

Creating 3D Photos is really easy and the best part is that you don’t require any special app. The new feature is also available on VR using the Oculus Browser on Oculus Go or Firefox on Oculus Rift. Facebook also shared a video of the whole process to show how you can create 3D Photos.

Unfortunately the new feature just available for iPhones right now and there is no word on when it will arrive on Android devices. For iPhone users, the feature is available starting today but the rollout is incremental so it might be a while before you actually see the feature in your Facebook App. In the meantime, you can head to Facebook’s blog to take a look at some tips to click 3D Photos like a pro. These tips will help you to create good 3D Photos that you can post on your timeline or view using VR.
