It seems many new Nokia Lumia 800 owners are complaining of very poor battery life, particularly standby time, with one user reporting his phone draining 25% of his charge overnight on Nokia’s support forums.

Others are reporting that battery life actually gets worse after repeated charges, not better, with some users going so far as to have their phone replaced.

I am testing a Nokia Lumia 800 myself now, and having taken it of the charger at 8:30 this morning, and synching 3 email accounts, and having listened to 2 podcasts totalling about 80 minutes, and checked the odd website, and Medium Brightness,  WIFI and Bluetooth on, it says 4 hours since last charge with 87% left and 1 day, 5 hours usage remaining. (update: now 72% after 7 hours with 23 hours remaining)

This number seems to me to be reasonable, meaning I can confidently get a full day’s use out of my phone. However people coming from a Blackberry or older Symbian phone may have different expectations.

What have the experience of our users been with battery life for the new handset? Let us know your figures (found in Settings>Battery Saver) and if you have also run into trouble, below.
