2dc9979026e025d7f743e4d89ecbHere is a bit of a surprise.  We knew the Alcatel One Touch is on its way, and now Hi-tech.mail.ru reports the handset, which they will as the most affordable Windows Phone yet, will also be the the first to drop the rather iconic hardware camera button.

The phone, which has a 4 inch WVGA screen, 1 Ghz processor, 5 megapixel camera, 512 MB RAM, will be launching at 6990 rubles ($226) and will mainly be hamstrung by having only 4 GB of internal storage (3GB available to the user) without any expansion.

From Hi-tech’s review however the device is otherwise a pretty good performer, and at 1000 rubles cheaper than the Nokia Lumia 610 is still a good buy, if you insist on going for the very cheapest Windows Phone. Of note of course is that the phone does not benefit from Nokia value adds such as free GPS navigation, but with 512 MB RAM the phone can run apps like Skype which the NL 610 can not.

The handset will hit the Russian market in only a few days, on December 15th.
